ROAD CLOSURES King Street and all the intersections between Gray's Road and Wardrope Ave. (Dawson, New Mountain, Elm, Mountain, Lake, First, etc.) will be closed from 1:30pm until the end of the parade. Please do not park on King Street on Saturday afternoon. King Street will also be closed all the way to Centennial Parkway, as Police Services will not allow traffic to go east on King Street from the Centennial parkway intersection during the road closure.. Local traffic may, at the discretion of Police Services, turn left from Battlefield Drive, and go west on to King Street to leave the neighbourhood during the parade period. Gray's Road will also be closed from 12pm from the Queenston Road to King Street, as will the intersections along that route (Collegiate Ave, Passmore St, etc.). Parade participants should get on to Gray’s Road for set-up from the north (Queenston Rd.) end. SALTFLEET LIBRARY The Gray’s Road closure includes the access to Saltfleet Library. The Library will be open during the road closure, but Library patrons are advised to turn into Fiesta Mall and park at the Fiesta Mall during the road closure hours. Police will be not be permitting access to Gray’s Road from Queenston Road, except for parade set-up from 12:00 - 3:30 pm. Road closures will begin at the discretion of the Police Services any time between 12:00 noon and 4:00 pm. Except for Gray’s Road, which closes early for parade set-up, the roads are not usually closed until just before the parade starts (usually around 1:30 pm) but residents and visitors are advised that the roads can be closed without warning any time during the posted hours if Police Services wishes to. |
